You may be surprised to find out that there are numerous stages involved in the installation of hardwood floors. But if ever you do decide to get some work done, you do not have to worry about a thing since the team of Sydney Timber Flooring will do the rest!

1.   Quality Underlay – Moisture plays and important roles in hardwood floors. Therefore, it is important to install a moisture proof soil as a base to ensure a desired final product.

There are three kinds of quality underlay that may be employed  when installing your hardwood floors:

a.       Standard Underlay – The typical type of underlay made up of foam and foil. It comes with a self-adhesive strip that sticks both sides of the foil together.

b.       Underlay with aluminum – This also serves as a noise reflector and works best in keeping the surface smooth. The aluminum is usually faced upward with the water-resistant tape preventing any water damage to the boards.

c.       Damp-proof membrane – This type is used when a cork layer is involved and works similarly to the underlay with aluminum.

2.   Installation Proper – The professionals from Sydney Timber Flooring will then install the material that the client has chosen for the floor using the installation method that is most suitable to the materials.

3.   Skirting – Once the underlay has been fixed, wooden or printable skirtings are applied. Skirtings may come in dimensions depending on one’s preference but the more common ones come in 2150 x 58 x 14 mm (86 x 2 1?3 x 3?5 inch). Skirtings work by covering up the edges of the flooring and making sure that there is a stylish transition from the floor to the wall.

4.   Repairs and maintenance may be required but are also part of the installation services of Sydney Timber Flooring.
